MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Ice in the outfield and the temperature hovering around freezing are usually not ideal conditions to playing softball.
That is what was decided this Sunday morning as Lipscomb and Oakland tried to warm up. The game, scheduled to start the final day of the University of Memphis Tournament, has been canceled.
Lipscomb coach Kristin Ryman said the decision was made by the coaches for both teams. Oakland, due to its travel schedule, could not start a game later than 10 a.m.
This was the only game Lipscomb had scheduled Sunday. Lipscomb finished the tournament 1-2 with two games canceled due to inclement weather.
The Lady Bisons, 17-7, are back in action Wednesday at 4 p.m. at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama.
