LakePoint, Ga. – For the fourth time during her career and the first time this season, Lipscomb softball junior Mandy Jordan has been named the ASUN Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Monday.
Jordan earned the award after a stellar weekend which featured two wins against strong competition at the EMU Madeira Beach Spring Invitational over the weekend.
On Friday, Jordan threw 12 strikeouts and allowed just three runs (one earned) on six hits in a 4-3 win over the ACC’s Virignia.
Saturday saw Jordan toss seven strikeouts and allow just three hits and four runs (two earned) in eight innings of work, helping the Lady Bisons defeat Ohio 12-4.
Over the two games, the Alabama native posted an ERA of 1.40, tallied 19 total strikeouts, and only allowed seven runs and nine hits.
Jordan had won three previous ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors, all coming last season.
Lipscomb has now won both ASUN Pitcher of the Week awards for the season after fellow junior Jordan Fortel earned the honors for her opening week performance.
The Lady Biosns will be back in action this weekend with four games at the Samford Invitational.
