NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb Lady Bisons ended a five-game winning streak in a 3-1 loss to ETSU in the second day of the Purple and Gold Challenge.
At approximately 3:20 the Lady Bisons are back in action against Georgia Southern. Lipscomb beat Georgia Southern 5-3 Friday.
ETSU took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the fourth inning on a double to right field by Kylie Toler and a single to left by Emma Martindale. With no outs in the inning Lipscomb starter Jordan Fortel was replaced Chloe Yeager.
Yeager would allow on run, a solo homer over the left field fence in the fifth by Taylor Wright.
Lipscomb scored its lone run in the fourth when Abby Fenichel singled to the left side to bring home Khayla Green.
Fortel, 2-3, gave up four hits, walked three and struck out three. Yeager scattered four hits in four innings. She struck out two and walked one.
Madison Ogle, 4-4, went the distance for ETSU. She gave up three hits, walked six and struck out two.
Lipscomb slipped to 10-3. ETSU is 5-8.
- Green stole a base, her seventh of the season. She leads the team.
- Fenichel and Hannah DeVault have five-game hitting streaks.
