LakePoint, Ga. – For the fifth time in her career and the second time this season, Lipscomb softball junior Mandy Jordan has been named the ASUN Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league offices on Monday.
Jordan took home the award after a top-notch performance at the Cougar Classic in Houston over the weekend. She went 2-0 in her two appearances, improving her record to 9-0 for the season.
On Friday, Jordan struck out seven batters and only allowed four hits and two runs (zero earned) during Lipscomb’s 3-2 win over the hosts Houston.
Saturday saw Jordan shut out Iowa State in a 1-0 Lady Bisons victory. She dealt eight strikeouts and allowed just two hits.
Over the games, the Alabama native threw 15 strikeouts, allowed just six hits, and prevented any earned runs from being scored.
Her league-best ERA improved to 0.83 for the season after her dominant weekend performance.
Jordan previously won the award this season after a strong pair of outings at the EMU Madeira Beach Spring Invite. She won three more weekly honors last season.
Lipscomb has now won three of the five ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors this season after Jordan Fortel notched the first one of the season.
The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Wednesday with a home tilt against Bradley.
