Yeager wins first career Pitcher of the Week award

LakePoint, Ga. – After a stellar week in which she won the first two starts in her Lady Bison career, Lipscomb sophomore Chloe Yeager has been named the ASUN Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league offices on Monday.

Yeager earned two of Lipscomb’s three wins over the past week, holding both Louisville and Stetson to one run each.

During Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Louisville (39th in RPI nationally), Yeager allowed just one walk and seven hits and dealt three strikeouts in a complete game of action.

In the Lady Bisons 2-1 win over Stetson on Friday, Yeager allowed just three hits and three walks in eight innings on the mound. She also pitched seven strikeouts.

Over the two outings, Yeager combined to allow just two runs, 10 hits, and four walks while throwing 10 strikeouts.

Lipscomb has now won four of the eight ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors. Junior Jordan Fortel took home the first award of the season, and fellow junior Mandy Jordan is the only pitcher to have notched two so far this season.

The Lady Bisons will take the field again on Tuesday as UAB visits Draper Diamond for a 5 p.m. matchup.
