LakePoint, Ga. – Lipscomb softball’s Abby Fenichel and Mandy Jordan have been named to the ASUN All-Academic team, as announced by the league offices on Monday.
Jordan, a junior pitcher, earned the honor for the second consecutive year after posting a GPA of 3.44 as a Fitness and Sports Studies major.
The Alabama native is second in the ASUN and 38th in the nation with a 1.45 ERA so far this season. She also ranks fourth in the conference and 78th in the nation with 145 strikeouts.
She is 15-7 on the year, the third-most wins for any pitcher in the conference, owning victories over Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, and a no-hitter against Bradley.
Her 17-strikeout performance against Georgia Tech earned Jordan one of the two ASUN Pitcher of the Week awards she won this season.
In 139 innings pitched she has allowed an opponent’s batting average of .179 and has only allowed 29 earned runs.
Fenichel was named to her first-ever All-Academic team after accumulating a 3.74 GPA as a Exercise Science major.
The senior catcher leads the ASUN with 17 RBI in conference play and is third overall in the league with 34.
She has the third-highest number of doubles with 13 in the ASUN and is fifth in home runs with seven.
The Florida native has consistently come through for the Lady Bisons this season. She has batted .356 (16-45) with runners in scoring position and upped her average by nearly 30 points in conference play, finishing in the top 10 in eight different categories.
