Lady Bisons face North Alabama in home ASUN series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The majority of the time a conference foe is no stranger.

But this will be an exception this weekend as the Lipscomb Lady Bisons welcome  the North Alabama Lions to Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium. This will be the first meeting between Lipscomb and the Lions, a newcomer to the ASUN and  NCAA  Division I.

Game times Saturday are noon and 2 p.m. The series finale is Sunday at 1.

The Lady Bisons bring a six-game winning streak into the weekend. They have won eight of their last nine games and have won five straight conference games. They did not have a midweek game this past week.

North Alabama, loser of its last three games, also had a week of rest from game action when its game with Alabama A&M was canceled Tuesday.

Lipscomb is 27-12-1, 6-3 in the ASUN. North Alabaman is 17-14, 3-6 in  the conference.



  • North Alabama previously played in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.
  • North Alabama is ranked 120th in this week’s RPI.
  • Right-hander Megan Garst, 9-5, ranks first in the ASUN with an 0.87 earned run average. She is also first in strikeouts per game with 9.36 and is fourth in strikeouts with 119 in 89 innings.
  • Veronica Westfall is second in the ASUN in batting average at .389. She is the only North Alabama player batting above .300.
  • Harley Stokes leads the team in runs batted in with 18 and home runs with eight.
  • Sidney Revels, a left-hander, is 3-2 with a 2.15 ERA. She has 44 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.



  • Hannah DeVault ranks 15th in Division I in doubles with 14.
  • DeVault leads the ASUN in RBI with 36. She has the third highest home run total with seven.
  • Khayla Green is 15th in the nation in walks with 31, an average of  .78 per game.
  • Mandy Jordan is 80th nationally in strikeouts and 89th with a 3.44 strikeouts-to-walks ratio.
  • Katie Turner is 69th in hits allowed per seven innings with 5.16. Megan Turner is 94th in the same category with an average of 5.41 hits.
  • Jordan Fortel is tied for second in the ASUN with 31 RBI.
  • Peyton Ward is 42nd in the nation and first in the ASUN with 21 stolen bases.
  • As a team the Lady Bisons are 19th in doubles with 1.7 per game and 19th in stolen bases with 1.98 per game.
  • The team strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.35 is 56th in Division I.
  • The Lady Bisons .688 won-loss percentage is 44th nationally.
  • Graysen Gladden is fourth in the conference in stolen bases with 16.
  • The Lady Bisons are 49th in this week’s RPI, the highest ranking for an ASUN team. Liberty is 56th followed by FGCU (61) and North Florida (87) in the top 100.


The ASUN  series continues with Lipscomb and North Alabama meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium. The time may change due to weather conditions.
