Softball celebrating the seniors in Stetson series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It’s “Senior Weekend” for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons as they  face Stetson in an ASUN series.

The schedule at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium has been adjusted due to Easter Sunday. Friday night the two teams will play a doubleheader with games scheduled for 4 and 6 p.m.

Saturday a single game is scheduled for noon. Eight seniors – Destinee Brewer, Jordan Fortel, Graysen Gladden, Khayla Green, Sarah Higgins, Mandy Jordan, Jenna Pealor  and Chloe  Rogers – will be honored at the conclusion of the game.

The Lady Bisons are 29-13-1, 8-4 in the ASUN. Stetson is 15-24, 4-8 in the conference.

Lipscomb has won eight of its last nine games. Stetson has lost its last two games.

 

Scouting Stetson

  • The series has been a tight one with Lipscomb holding a 23-22 edge, having won the last six games overall.
  • Tori Perkins, 12-11, is second in the ASUN with four shutouts. She has a 2.12 earned run average. In 151.2 innings she has struck out 53 and allowed 182 hits.
  • Jaime Tino, 3-12, has a 4.91 ERA. She has 37 strikeouts in 72 innings to go with 100 hits.
  • Two Hatters are batting over .300. Danielle Diaz leads the way with a .356 average. Elizabeth Jackson is hitting .347.
  • Ashly Smith leads Stetson with 10 doubles and 24 runs batted in.
