ATLANTA - For the second time in her career and the first time this season, Lipscomb softball’s Sarah Higgins has been named the ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Tuesday.
The senior led Lipscomb to a perfect 4-0 week, vaulting the Bisons to the top of the ASUN standings after a weekend sweep of Kennesaw State and a midweek win over Austin Peay.
Higgins batted .385 for the week, going 5-13 from the plate with a number of clutch hits. She blasted two home runs, a double, and a triple, notched seven RBI and 14 total bases, and compiled a 1.077 slugging percentage and a .385 OBP.
The honor is Lipscomb’s fifth ASUN weekly award of the season. Higgins had previously won the award on April 10 of last season.
The Lady Bisons will close out the regular season this week with a major series against FGCU, the current ASUN co-leaders.
