Amber Wood
Amber Wood, from Iowa State, is a graduate assistant for the Lipscomb softball team. Wood, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will work with hitting and position players. She brings coaching experience on several different levels to the position. She was an instructor in hitting, infield and pitching at Perfect Game Softball in Iowa for one year. She also spent a year as a student assistant at Iowa State where she worked with instruction at practice and camps. She spent two years as an assistant coach at Marion High School in Iowa. As a player she spent two years at Kirkwood Community College, playing the infield for the team that finished fifth in the NJCAA National Championships in 2002. At Kirkwood she was First Team All-Conference and All-Region in 2002. She was also an Academic All-America selection. In 2003 she was the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference. She was also named to Academic All-America team. Wood also played two seasons at Iowa State. She was a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Team.
