Lipscomb volleyball head coach Brandon Rosenthal has announced the signing of setter Rachel Reed to a National Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2012 season.

Spring is a time of renewal, but for the Lipscomb Lady Bison volleyball team it is a season of refinement. The number of players is limited due to injuries and players graduating, but Coach Rosenthal and his staff are finding ways to get things done as they prepare to defend their A-Sun title.

The Lipscomb volleyball team was honored early Monday evening with a resolution on the Tennessee State Senate floor presented by Sen. Kerry Roberts for the team’s play during the 2011 Atlantic Sun Championship season.

After casting a wide net around the country looking for the right fit for the program, Lipscomb volleyball head coach Brandon Rosenthal ended up going just down Belmont Boulevard hiring Jeff Wismer as assistant coach for the three-time defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion Lady Bison program.

After six years as part of the Lipscomb volleyball program, assistant coach Samantha Sullivan is heading to the West Coast to being the next chapter in her life.

Finding itself in a defensive battle in the opening round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Lipscomb volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 (16-25, 16-25, 25-12, 22-25) decision to homestanding Texas A&M at Reed Arena.
