The Lipscomb Lady Bisons volleyball team lost their first Atlantic Sun match of the season and lost for the first time ever to Northern Kentucky by a 3-2 score Friday night. After winning set one 25-18 and set two 25-22 the Lady Bisons lost set three 25-17, set four 27-25 and set five 15-9.
The second round of the Atlantic Sun volleyball season begins Friday night for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons. Despite a perfect 7-0 record in the first half they don’t expect things to get any easier the second time around. They are on the road Friday night at 5:30 to face Northern Kentucky in an Atlantic Sun match.
The volleyball version of the “Battle of the Boulevard” was renewed after a two-year hiatus with the Lipscomb Lady Bisons sweeping Belmont 3-0 in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Allen Arena. The Lady Bisons won by set scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-21.
The Lady Bisons are set to take on former Atlantic Sun Conference foe Belmont for the first time since 2011 as Lipscomb plays host to the Bruins Tuesday night at Allen Arena.
The Lipscomb Lady Bisons twice battled for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference Oct. 17 and 18 with 3-1 match wins on the road at Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson.
