Lipscomb’s Dotson earns TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb University’s Caitlin "Dot" Dotson garnered Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association after registering 107 assists in a pair of Bisons victories last week.

Dotson collected 56 assists in a 3-1 win at Florida Gulf Coast and 51 at Stetson, her sixth and seventh matches this season with 50-plus assists. The Louisville, Ky., native moved into second place on the school’s all-time career list in assists.

She is the second Lady Bisons' player to win the award this season. Middle blocker Jewell Dobson won Oct. 8.

Dotson was also the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week for this week.

The senior leads the nation in assists per set with 12.94 and averaged 15.29 assists in the two weekend victories. Lipscomb, 14-6 overall and 8-2 in Atlantic Sun Conference play, hosts North Florida and Jacksonville University this weekend at Allen Arena.
