The Lady Bisons fell 3-0 to the host University of Memphis volleyball team Friday afternoon at the Tiger Invitational at the Roane Fieldhouse.
The scores of the games were 30-20, 30-14 and 30-22. The University of Memphis is unbeaten this season. This was their home opener.
"Memphis came out and did some great stuff against us," said Rosenthal. "In games one and two we had a real tough time passing, which has been one of our staples. That put us on our heels.
"In game three I loved what we did a for about three-fourths of the way through the game, but we made some mental mistakes. We have been stressing that and stressing that. One of the hardest parts of the game is to remain focused and calm." Ashley Cox led the Lady Bisons in kills with eight. Ann Mullins led with 15 digs.
The tournament continues Saturday with the Lady Bisons facing Arkansas-Little Rock and Southeast Missouri State.
"We've talked a lot about highs and lows and trying to keep things as close to the middle as possible," said Rosenthal. "The most disappointing part for me was in the first two Memphis games I just thought we got outworked.
"We have established ourselves as a team that works hard. We aren't the tallest team. We don't hit the hardest. But we tend to work harder than other teams. We have to come back and work even harder. We will be ready."
