Volleyball loses to Florida Gulf Coast 3-1

The regular season Atlantic Sun Conference championship is going to be a little harder for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons to obtain after a 3-1 match loss Sundey afternoon to Florida Gulf Coast.

The win gives Florida Gulf Coast the regular season lead two matches into the second half of the conference round robin. The Lady Bisons, last year's A-Sun Tournament Champion, are in second place.

The Lady Bisons lost sets one and two by the score of 25-16. The Lady Bisons bounced back to win set three 25-22, but lost set four 25-23.

Middle blocker Alex Kelly made a team-high 16 kills, but failed to reach double figures in digs. That ended her double--doubles streak at nine matches.

Libero Jessica Turner made 18 digs, tying for the match high. Opposite Erin Pierce made 10 digs.

Ana Kokanovic posted a double-double to lead Florida Gulf Coast with 18 kills and 17 digs.

Catilin Shawver made16 kills and Audrey Campbell added 12 for Florida Gulf Coast.

Holly Youngquist added 11 digs.

The Lady Bisons are 13-9 overall, 10-2 in the conference. Florida Gulf Coast is 12-6 overall, 11-1 in the A-Sun.
