Rose garners third A-Sun Player of the Week honor of season

MACON, Ga. – After leading Lipscomb to a 3-0 week including an upset of BIG EAST power Louisville, senior middle blocker Katie Rose has garnered her third Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.

The Lexington, Ky., native got the week off to a good start with a solid 12-kill, nine-dig performance against the Cardinals from her home state.  The veteran then notched an eight-kill, eight-kill, three-block outing against A-Sun foe Stetson.  Rose finished the week by leading Lipscomb with a 16-kill, 14-dig, four-block effort against FGCU to keep a firm hold atop the A-Sun standings as Lipscomb improved to 9-0 in league play.

“This caps off an awesome week of Lipscomb volleyball,” said head coach Brandon Rosenthal.  “Katie continues to play outstanding volleyball.  The thing that makes her so special is she is the complete player.

“Katie has demonstrated herself as one of the top players in the A-Sun and it’s great that she is being recognized after a great week of top-notch volleyball.”

For the week, Rose finished with a blistering .426 hitting percentage, 36 kills, nine total blocks and 31 digs.

The Lady Bisons continue A-Sun play on Tuesday night with a 6:30 p.m. match down the “Boulevard” at rival Belmont.
