NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb University has signed a pair of prep volleyball standouts to national letters of intent Lady Bison’s head coach Brandon Rosenthal announced on Wednesday.
Signing with Lipscomb are middle blocker Molly Spitznagle from Lafayette, Ind., and outside hitter Brittnay Estes from Palm Harbor, Fla. The duo will be freshmen on the 2012 Lipscomb volleyball squad.
“Samantha Sullivan, Jake Pease and I have worked extremely hard to find the type of players that will continue assist us in being successful in the Atlantic Sun and on the national stage,” said Rosenthal. “We put a ton of emphasis on not only finding good players but also people that want to work hard on and off the court and we feel both Molly and Brittnay both fit that bill, exactly. Over the years we have always given our incoming freshmen the chance to play a significant role in our upcoming season and I have no doubt that these two will carry on that tradition.”
“We are very excited about the addition of Molly,” said Rosenthal. “Over the past year it has been apparent that Molly continues to grow and excel on the court. She brings a tremendous amount of athletic ability and will continue our tradition of athletic middles.
A key part of the East Lake High school powerhouse program, which is 17-1 and looking to repeat as state champions, Estes heads to Nashville next fall after being named all-region and all-district in each of the past three seasons.
