JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Diving plays.  In your face blocks. Ferocious kills.

It was the type of volleyball match that neither team deserved to lose.

But after winning the first two sets 27-25 and 25-23 the Lipscomb Lady Bisons lost the next three sets and the match to ETSU at Brooks Gym.

The Lady Bisons dropped set three 25-21, set four 35-33 and set five 15-13. It was the second five-set loss by the Lady Bisons to ETSU.

ETSU remains on top of the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 14-1 record, 20-7 overall. The Lady Bisons are 12-3 in the conference, 18-7 overall.

Outside hitter Lauren Ford led the Lady Bisons in kills with 25 and a .444 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Jewell Dobson added 12 kills.

Libero Bri McCombs led the Purple and Gold with 20 digs. Setter Caitlin "Dot" Dotson added 12 and outside hitter Sophie Kellerman chipped in 11.

Defensive specialist Megan Stout, filling in for an injured Stephanie Rex, made a season high 13 digs

Megan Devine finished with a match high 28 kills and also added 18 digs.

Katie Muey was credited with a match-high 21 digs for ETSU.

The Lady Bisons are back in action Saturday afternoon at 2 at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C
