LUV looks to capitalize on the momentum built over the past couple of competition dates as they head into their final competition this weekend.
Recently competing at spring tournaments in Louisville, Ky., and Indianapolis, Ind., head coach Brandon Rosenthal has been very pleased with the progress that the team has shown.
"Spring is an interesting animal as there is a fine balance of individual development and team play,” Rosenthal said. “It can also be very long if not approached in a specific manner where everyone is on the same page.”
Rebounding from a heartbreaking loss in their sixth Atlantic Sun Championship match in seven years, LUV players turned all their focus on rededicating themselves to their championship ways.
The team has been very open and vocal with their goal for the 2014 season...”WIN THE ATLANTIC SUN CHAMPIONSHIP”. Players and coaches alike have collaborated to better understand what it is going to take to get there and ultimately put those pieces in place throughout this spring.
As they enter their final weekend there has been no shortage of the typical strength of schedule that we have all become accustomed to watching LUV take on. Some of the recent teams that LUV faced were Purdue, Kentucky, Indiana, Western, Kentucky, West Virginia, Illinois State, IUPUI, and Austin Peay.
This weekend will be LUV's final test for the spring and while the other two weekends took place out of town, LUV fans will be excited to know this weekend will take place here in Nashville.
LUV will play their final spring tournament on Saturday, April 12th at the Fieldhouse of A-Game in Cool Springs. They will play Miami (Ohio) at 10 a.m., Tennessee Tech at 11 a.m., and Alabama at 1 p.m.
The Nashville community will be treated to a very high level volleyball experience as many of the region's top teams will also be playing.
