NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb’s Lauren Ford earned Volleyball Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association after recording 60 kills in three matches and helping the Bisons win the Tiger Classic over the weekend.
Ford was also named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week. This is the third time in her career she has been named TSWA Player of the Week.
The Lenexa, Kan., native began the tourney with 22 kills and just five errors in 40 total attacks against host Missouri in a 3-1 Lipscomb victory. She followed that with 14 kills versus Oakland University and 24 kills against Illinois State, earning Tournament MVP honors.
This is the second week in a row that a Lady Bison has won the honor. Junior right side Brittnay Estes won the award last week. She was also A-Sun Player of the Week. Both awards were the first in her career.
The Bisons host Western Kentucky tonight and then takes on Georgia Tech, Utah and East Tennessee State in the Lipscomb Invitational this weekend.
