Ford collects A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. - The Lipscomb Lady Bisons twice battled for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference Oct. 17 and 18 with 3-1 match wins on the road at Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson.

Senior outside hitter Lauren Ford paced the Lady Bisons winning weekend with 21 kills against Stetson and 20 against Florida Gulf Coast. Both were match highs.

For her efforts Ford was named A-Sun Player of the Week. It is her third career A-Sun Player of the Week award and the second this season.

She has double figures in kills in her last five matches.

This was the sixth time this season with 20 or more kills and her fifth time to accomplish the feat in a four-set match.

Against Stetson Ford put together a solid line of 21 kills, a .314 hitting pct., one dig and four blocks (one solo).

The four blocks against Stetson tied her season high for total blocks in a match.

Her 57 total attacks against FGCU were two fewer than her season high and her highest total in a four-set match.

The Lady Bisons are 13-6 overall, 7-0 in the A-Sun.

They are back in action Tuesday night at 6:30 in Allen Arena when Belmont visits for a renewal of the volleyball “Battle of the Boulevard”.
