McCombs collects A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb libero Bri McCombs has been named this week's Atlantic Sun Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

McCombs, a junior from Franklin, Tennessee, collected her third A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award, her second of this season.

She was the defensive leader as the Lady Bisons won back-to-back 3-2 decisions at North Florida and Jacksonville.

She averaged 4.70 digs per set this past week. McCombs had 16 digs in the win over North Florida on Friday night.

She followed that up with a new career-high 31 digs in the match against Jacksonville.  McCombs averaged 6.20 digs per set against the Dolphins.

It was the first time a Lady Bisons player has collected 30 or more digs in a five-set match since Ann Mullins made 32 against Jacksonville Nov. 3, 2006.

McCombs added six assists and two service aces in the victories.
