Volleyball moves to 32nd in latest RPI ranking

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It’s a new edition of the NCAA Division I volleyball RPI and the Lipscomb Lady Bisons have another all-time rating.

This week the Lady Bisons are 32nd in the RPI, moving up one spot from last week when they were 33rd, the former all-time high.

The Lady Bisons, 20-7, 13-1, are heading to Fort Myers, Florida this week for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The winner earns the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

With an RPI ranking in the low 30s the Lady Bisons are also getting some mention as a potential at-large team if they fail to win the tournament.

The Lady Bisons, the regular season champions, are the No.1 seed in the tournament. Host Florida Gulf Coast is the No. 2 seed. The Eagles are the next rated A-Sun team in the RPI at 71st.

The tournament starts Thursday at Alico Arena with No. 4-seeded Northern Kentucky facing No. 5 seed Stetson.

No. 3-seeded Jacksonville plays No. 6-seeded North Florida.

The Lady Bisons will play the winner of the Northern Kentucky-Stetson match in the semifinals Friday night.
