NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb’s Carlyle Nusbaum earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association Volleyball Player of the Week honors, setting career-highs in kills and digs in weekend road victories for the Bisons.
This is the first time she has been honored by the TSWA. She was also named this week as both the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week and the Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Week.
The Overland Park, Kansas, native opened her weekend with a career-high 23 kills at USC Upstate. She hit .436 in the victory on 39 total attacks.
Nusbaum followed that with 29 kills and 17 digs, also a career-best, in a five-set win at Kennesaw State the next day.
She hit .321 combined in the two matches and finished the weekend with a team-high 6.50 kills per set.
Lipscomb, 17-8 overall and 9-1 in the Atlantic Sun, hosts Jacksonville and North Florida this weekend.
