MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Carlyle Nusbaum has been named Freshman of the Week in the final Atlantic Sun Volleyball Weekly Awards for the 2015 season, announced by the league office on Monday.
Nusbaum takes home her second A-Sun Freshman of the Week award after helping Lipscomb secure the outright regular season title and top-seed in the A-Sun Volleyball Championship with wins at Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson.
She opened the weekend with 21 kills in the five-set victory over FGCU to clinch the No. 1 seed. She averaged 4.20 kills per set and hit .290 in the win.
Nusbaum also added 10 digs for a double-double in the win. She closed out the weekend with a .250 hitting percentage and 3.50 kills per set.
A business marketing major from Overland Park, Kansas, Nusbaum also added three blocks, three assists and two service aces in both matches combined
Nusbaum also was named A-Sun Player of the Week to finish her freshman regular season with three conference awards.
