Nusbaum adds two more volleyball honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Santa Claus needs to bring a new wall to Lipscomb volleyball’s Carlyle Nusbaum in order for her to find room for all of her awards this season.

This week the sophomore outside hitter from Overland Park, Kansas, has added two more postseason honors to her list. She has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by both Volleyballmag.com and PrepVolleyball.com.

"These recent All-American selections are true indications of Carlyle's talent and the year that she had,” Lipscomb coach Brandon Rosenthal said. “It is a great honor to be named to one list, but three lists is very impressive.

“All three lists are independent of each other. I think Carlyle's selection speaks volumes to the level that she played at and the potential that she will continue to show.”

Her postseason awards scorecard:

  1. American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American
  2. com Honorable Mention All-American
  3. com Honorable Mention All-American
  4. AVCA All-South Region
  5. ASUN Conference Player of the Year
  6. ASUN Tournament Most Valuable Player

“Ultimately I am so proud of all of her individual effort and the effort of the team to make such awards possible,” Rosenthal said. “As I always say individual awards are the result of a team effort.”
