With the victory the Bisons are now 13-10 overall and 6-4 in league action and have five wins in their last six outings. NJIT fell to 11-16 and 1-9.

Individually, Lipscomb’s balanced offensive attack featured five players totaling at least five kills. Carlyle Nusbaum topped the list with 14 kills, while Lauren Anderson tacked on 11 of her own.

The Bisons fortunes were buoyed by the production from their middles. Maddie Phillips registered eight kills and hit .467 while Ca’Layci Coffey chipped in five and hit .500. The duo also finished with four block assists each.

Lipscomb came out of the gate on fire, outhitting the host Highlanders .424 to .040 in the opening set. The second frame was a struggle for both sides, but Lipscomb outlasted NJIT despite just eight kills and a .036 clip.
