LAKEPOINT, Ga. – Lipscomb’s Brittany Thomas was named the ASUN Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week when the league office announced its final awards of the regular season Monday.
The honor is her first of the season and the third of her career.
Thomas had her best weekend of the season as she averaged 6.00 digs per set in split decisions against Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson.
The senior libero posted 16 digs against the Eagles on Friday and then followed that performance up with a season high 26-dig effort on Saturday versus the Hatters - 6.50/set.
With her performance at Stetson, the Overland Park, Kansas native eclipsed 20+ digs in her sixth match this season.
Lipscomb opens up the ASUN Tournament at 5 p.m. Thursday as the No. 4 seed. They will take on No. 5 North Florida with the winner facing No. 1 Kennesaw State in the semifinals on Friday.
