Nusbaum earns 11th career ASUN Player of the Week honor

ATLANTA– Lipscomb volleyball’s Carlyle Nusbaum was named the ASUN Player of the Week for the second time this season and the 11th of her career, announced by the league office Monday.

The senior outside hitter led the Bisons to a 2-0 weekend to remain unbeaten in the ASUN. She tallied 39 kills, 5.56 kills/set, and hit a robust .478.

On Friday against North Florida, she racked up season highs in kills (23) and digs (17) as well as a career-high six blocks and hit .475.  

She followed that performance on Saturday against Stetson with 16 kills, 5.33 kills/set, 12 digs and a .481 swinging percentage.

The Overland Park, Kansas native now has eight double-doubles on the year, including four straight.

This season, Nusbaum leads the league in kills/set with a mark of 4.41 and is just one off the lead in total kills with 288.

Lipscomb is back in action this weekend with a pair of big ASUN matches. The Bisons travel to Liberty on Friday at 5 p.m., before hitting the road for FGCU on Sunday at 1 p.m.
