NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Looking to snap a four-game losing streak, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team hosts Kennesaw State in Atlantic Sun Conference action Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Allen Arena.
The Lady Bisons are coming off one of their most complete games of the year after falling 74-70 to Mercer on Saturday, ending a streak of three-straight games against the A-Sun’s top three teams.
Senior Hannah Phillips tied a season-high 21 points while freshman Presley Stastny hit 5-of-6 from long range for 15 points in the LU effort. But a late push from the Bears sent the Lady Bisons to their fourth-straight loss.
Phillips leads Lipscomb with 12.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Freshman Alex Banks has averaged 11.8 points and 4.9 rebounds since the start of conference play while junior Jess Reece has snagged 6.3 rebounds per game in that same span.
The Owls, 4-16 overall and 0-8 in league play, are led by Sametria Gideon who averages a double-double with 11.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Kristina Wells also scores in double figures at 11.6 points per game.
KSU is comng off a 65-49 loss to Northern Kentucky where Gideon snagged 14 rebounds and scored 12 points, both team-highs.
Kennesaw State leads the all-time series 9-4, however the Lady Bisons won the final meeting of last season 72-64 in Kennesaw, Ga.
