NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women’s basketball Greg Brown has announced the dates of the Lipscomb basketball camps this summer. All camps take place in the month of June.
“I think one of the greatest things about camp is that it is the first taste of the Lipscomb culture for so many students,” Brown said. “It also had an added benefit of creating the culture for our players who are working the camps.”
The girls’ team camp kicks the summer off beginning June 2. The three-day camp includes housing for the teams and a pay-per-game schedule.
The fundamentals camp runs from June 9-12. The camp has fundamentals stations, daily contests, 5-on-5 games along with awards and prizes.
The guard and post camp is June 12-14 and focuses on each player’s position. After choosing the position, each athlete develops skills with valuable in-depth instruction and hands-on training.
Day camp and Junior Bison day camp is slated for June 17-21. Campers are grouped by age and gender and learn fundamentals and compete in contests for awards and prizes.
The Junior Bison Camp focuses on the correct fundamentals while playing on lowered baskets.
The camps end with the elite camp for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors. The camp is for advanced basketball skill work and player development. It covers NCAA requirements along with college admission requirements.
"All of our players, including the incoming freshman, will not only be exposed to the culture but also teach the culture,” Brown said. “The best way to learn is to teach. That is what has always set apart Lipscomb’s camps is that they are teaching camps.”
