NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team must now turn their attention to another tough draw in the Stetson Hatters on Saturday.

ESPN3 will broadcast the 4 p.m. tilt at Allen Arena.

Lipscomb (3-16, 0-8 A-Sun) is still looking for its first home win of the season after starting 0-6 in Music City. Stetson has won five straight in the series and holds a 13-7 advantage over the Lady Bisons since joining D-I.

The teams have split the last eight meetings (4-4) in Allen Arena.

The Lady Bisons have to like the way they started Thursday night, jumping out to a 10-point lead in the first half against the Eagles. The Purple and Gold held the lead for almost 18 minutes before FGCU got hot from behind the 3-point line and used 15 3-pointers to mount a strong comeback to escape Nashville with an 85-67 victory.

Danay Fothergill led Lipscomb with 20 points and four assists on the night, while Ashley Southern recorded her 15th double-double of the year with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Chandler Cooper had another solid game with 16 points and a career-high seven boards.

Fothergill paces Greg Brown’s squad with a 20.8 scoring clip. Southern averages 15.7 points an outing and leads the conference in rebounding with 12.1 boards per game. Her average places her inside the top 10 in the nation when it comes to cleaning up the glass.

The Lady Bisons continue to excel at knocking down long range shots, hitting nine on Thursday. Lipscomb ranks second in the league and 69th nationally with 6.9 made 3-pointers per game.

Stetson (15-5, 7-1 A-Sun) is seeking its eight consecutive A-Sun win of the season after defeating Northern Kentucky 90-66 on Thursday in Highland Heights, Ky.

Lynn Bria’s team last loss on the road came at FGCU in its A-Sun opener on Jan. 4.

The Hatters boast two of the top scorers in the league, as Sasha Sims leads the conference with 17.2 points per game and 6-foot-3 freshman Amber Porter ranks seventh with 13.9 per outing.

Porter and Cherissee Burris lead the team in rebounding, pulling down 7.8 per contest.

The Hatters also roster three of the top four in field goal percentage in the conference. Porter stands first at 56.1, Burris is third at 51.7 and Sims is fourth, draining 50.3 percent of her attempts.

After Saturday’s clash, Lipscomb will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Thursday to face Kennesaw State for the second time this season. The tilt at KSU Convocation Center will tip at 6 p.m. CT and be televised by ESPN3. The Owls claimed an 82-78 victory over the Lady Bisons on Jan. 9.
