The Lady Bisons honored their three senior team members Wednesday night after playing Florida Atlantic at Allen Arena.
Courtney Boynton, Lynn Roller and Lindsay Daly will all play their last games at Allen Arena Friday afternoon at 4 when UCF visits. The Lady Bisons have already qualified for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament which begins next Thursday in Dothan .Ala.
The Lady Bisons gave a boost to Florida Atlantic's tournament hopes. The Lady Bisons fell 67-56 to Florida Atlantic. It was the third consecutive loss for the Lady Bisons who are 13-13 overall, 10-9 in the A-Sun. Florida Atlantic is 12-14 overall, 10-9 in the conference.
Florida Atlantic opened the game with a field goal and never looked back. They led by as many as 11 points on two occasions in the first half, the last at 7:35 when Mistoria Brown made a lay-up.
The Lady Bisons pulled within three points before intermission on a lay-up by Penny Jones that made it 34-31 Florida Atlantic. At the half Florida Atlantic led 36-31.
In the second half Florida Atlantic went on a 10-2 run to take a 12-point lead at 12:42 at 51-39. The biggest lead for Florida Atlantic in the second half was 16 points.
Both Daly and Katie Beth Pate recorded double-doubles for the Lady Bosons. Daly led the team in scoring with 14 points. Pate finished with 10. They were the only Lady Bisons in double figures.
Both Daly and Pate pulled down 13 rebounds, a game high. It was the first double-double of the season for Daly. It was the sixth double-double for Pate.
Daly tied her season high for points scored in a game. Her rebound total was a season high.
Shontavia Williams scored a game-high 25 points for Florida Atlantic. Jackie Brown added 17.
Neither team shot well. Florida Atlantic was 26-of-70 for a 37.1 percent rate from the field. The Lady Bisons were 20-of-66 for a 30.3 percent rate.
