Lipscomb's Lady Bisons had the opportunity Tuesday afternoon to play at Carmichael Hall on the University of North Carolina campus, the same court where Michael Jordan rose to basketball fame.
That will be about the only positive memory for the Lady Bisons who fell 91-45 to No. 7-ranked North Carolina . It was the first game for the Lady Bisons, 5-3, since Dec. 7. North Carolina , an Atlantic Coast Conference power, ran its record to 10-1.
Freshman Erlana Larkins earned her first double-double for North Carolina with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Her scoring early in the game sparked North Carolina , which held a 40-24 lead at intermission.
Courtney Boynton led the Lady Bisons with 11 points. Penny Jones added 10, grabbed a team-leading five rebounds and made two steals.
The Lady Bisons shot 37 percent from the field. North Carolina shot 48.7 percent.
North Carolina also held a 48-23 advantage on the boards.
The Lady Bisons, 2-0 in conference play, return to Atlantic Sun Conference action Monday when Belmont makes the short trip down the boulevard for the first shots in the " Battle of the Boulevard" for this season.
