Lipscomb's Lady Bisons basketball team closed out the regular season with a 54-51 loss to UCF Friday afternoon at Allen Arena.

The Lady Bisons started chipping away at the lead. A 3-pointer by Courtney Boynton with 21 seconds left gave UCF only a 27-23 lead. But a foul by Katie Beth Pate with one second left sent Keunta Miles to free throw line where she hit both shots for a 29-23 halftime advantage.
The Lady Bisons came on strong in the second half. They tied the game at 33-33 with 15:37 left on a lay-up by Julie Martin. But the Lady Bisons did not take their first lead of the second half until 10:21 when Pate hit the first of two free throw attempts to break a tie for a 38-37 edge.
The Lady Bisons stretched the lead to five, their biggest advantage of the half at 44-39 on a lay-up by Courtney Boynton.
