Lipscomb's Lady Bisons closed out their road trip to North Carolina with a 58-43 loss Saturday afternoon to Campbell University at Carter Gymnasium Saturday afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C.
Campbell never trailed in the game. The Lady Bisons did tie the score at 9-9 at 15:03 of the first half after a 5-0 scoring run. Campbell answered with an 13-2 run to take a 22-11 lead.
With 1:29 left in the first half the Lady Bisons pulled to within five at 31-26, but Campbell rallied to make it 35-26 at intermission.
Sophomore guard Dana Carrigan led the Lady Bisons in scoring with a game-high 14 points. It was the second game in a row Carrigan has led the team in scoring and her eighth time this season.
In the second half the Lady Bisons rallied to get within five points at 40-35 with 12:37 on the clock thanks to a 3-pointer by Katie Rollins.
Campbell outscored the Lady Bisons 18-5 to close out the game.
The Lady Bisons shot 27.5 percent from the field. Campbell was 41.7 from the field.
Campbell held a 41-37 advantage in rebounding.
Carrigan also grabbed five rebounds and made three steals.
Letitia Dickson scored 13 points to lead Campbell. Adrienne Rieley added 12.
Campbell is 9-14, overall, 8-7 in the conference.
The Lady Bisons are 6-15 overall, 5-9 in the A-Sun. They return home Thursday night to face East Tennessee State.
