McAlister named to A-Sun All-Freshman Team

Forward Miriam McAlister was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team by a vote of the conference coaches.

McAlister, a former David Lipscomb High standout, played in 27 games, starting 25. She averaged 8.4 points per game and was second on the team in rebounding with 5.9 per game. She led the team in scoring five times and was the only player on the team to score more than 20 points in a game with a season-and-career high 23 against East Tennessee State.

McAlister was also one of eight Lipscomb players named to the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team. Also named were Kaleigh Gossman, Penny Jones, Karli Osborn, Jilian Partin, Katie Beth Pate, Rachel Viehmann and Sarah Woods

To be named A-Sun All-Academic, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA in the classroom.
