Final Stats

Lipscomb's Lady Bisons will take some time off to regroup and take final exams after losing 81-53 Monday night to the Murray State Lady Racers at the Regional Sports Event Center in Murray, Ky.

This was the third Ohio Valley Conference team the Lady Bisons have faced this season. They have a win over Austin Peay and losses to Tennessee State and Murray State.

Murray State's overall record is 3-3. The Lady Bisons are 3-6. This was the sixth game in 11 days for the Lady Bisons.

The Lady Bisons struggled to get into the game offensively, making 13 first half turnovers. They trailed 13-2 to start the game and 21-4 with 11:06 left in the first half. At intermission Murray State was ahead 43-14.

The Lady Bisons did not give up in the second half. They went on an 11-4 run in the first 5 ½ minutes to cut the lead to 47-25. But Murray State answered with a 6-0 run and never looked back.

Point guard Catie Woods led the Lady Bisons in scoring with 16 points, heading five-of-10 shots from the field, including four-of-nine 3-pointers.

Forward Julie Martin grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Rachel Davis tied for the game-high in steals with three.

The Lady Bisons shot 30.6 percent from the field (15-of-49).

Murray State shot 42.3 percent from the field, hitting 33-of-78 attempts.

Murray State also held a 49-37 advantage on the boards. Jeny Petrie led Murray State with a game-high 17 points. Joi Scott and Amber Guffey each scored 13. Ashley Nicole Hayes scored 12.

Scott also recorded a double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Lady Bisons will not play again until Dec. 20 and 21 when they make the short trip to Vanderbilt for their holiday tournament. Also in the field are Longwood and Indiana State.
