The Lady Bisons head into the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament this weekend as No. 6-seed.
They will face ETSU, the No. 3 seed, in the quarterfinals Thursday in Dothan, Ala. The Lady Bisons and ETSU split their regular season games.
The Lady Bisons closed out the regular season Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla, with a 69-59 loss to Jacksonville. It was the eighth-straight win for Jacksonville.
The Lady Bisons, who opened the Atlantic Sun portion of the season with a win over Jacksonville back in November, appeared to be on the way to a sweep/ They held a 35-34 lead at the half.
With nine seconds left before intermission the score was tied 33-33. Center Rachel Viehmann gave the Lady Bisons the lead at the buzzer with a jumper.
In the opening minutes of the second half the Lady Bisons continued to hold the advantage. But with 16:13 left to play Jacksonville came back to tie the game for the fifth time.
A jump shot by Courtney Jackson put Jacksonville ahead 45-43 and never trailed again.
The Lady Bisons hit 20-of-45 shots from the field (44.4 percent). They were six-of-14 from 3-point range, 42.9 percent. They connected on 13-of-18 free throw attempts (72.2 percent).
Four Jacksonville players scored in double figures. Ashley Williams led the way with a game-high 25 points. Jackson and Regin Omoite both chipped in 14. DaVina Hamilton added 10.
Williams led Jacksonville in rebounds with eight.
Jacksonville was 28-of-64 from the field (43.8 percent), including four-of-12 from 3-point range. Jacksonville also hit nine-of-12 free throw tries.
The Lady Bisons are 8-20, 6-12 in the conference. Jacksonville finished the regular season 20-8, winning 20 games for the first time in the history of the women's program. They are 14-4 in the A-Sun.
