Final Stats

ETSU's Lady Buccaneers jumped out to a fast start and never looked back.

Bouncing back from a loss at Florida Gulf Coast which ended an eight-game winning streak, ETSU beat Lipscomb's Lady Bisons 89-65 Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic Sun contest at the Memorial Center in Johnson City, Tenn.

ETSU opened with a 9-4 lead followed that with a 16-5 run for a 25-9 lead with 10:58 left before intermission. ETSU went into the dressing room at halftime with a 39-28 lead.

The Lady Bisons did make a strong run late in the first half and early in the second half to make a comeback. With 18:39 remaining in the game Lady Bisons junior center Katie Rollins hit a lay-up to cut the ETSU lead to eight points (41-33).

ETSU then responded with a 19-9 run to seal the game.

Three Lady Bisons scored in double figures. Freshman forward Cree Nix and freshman guard Jenna Bartoskas each scored 14. Junior forward Jilian Partin added 12. Nix tied her season high marking her third game with 14 points.

The Lady Bisons hit 21-of-62 attempts from the field, a 33.9 percent success rate. They hit 73.1 percent of their free throws, hitting 19-of-26. Usually reliable from 3-point range, the Lady Bisons hit only 4-of-23 attempts, 17.4 percent.

Partin and Nix combined for the rebound lead with seven each. Partin is second in rebounding in A-Sun games. In her last eight games she has tied for the rebound lead three times and led five times.

Four ETSU players scored in double figures. Latisha Belcher led the way with a game-high 19. Michele DeVault, Jenny Norman and Siarre Evans each scored 14.

ESTU shot 44.4 percent from the field hitting 32-of-72 shots.

On the boards ETSU held a 48-39 lead. Belcher lead with a game-high nine rebounds.

ETSU has won its fifth straight home game. The Lady Bisons lost their fourth game in a row. ETSU swept the Lady Bisons this season.

The Lady Bisons head to Spartanburg, S.C., Monday night to face USC Upstate. The Lady Bisons are 6-20 overall, 4-8 in the conference. ETSU is 14-11 overall, 10-2 in the A-Sun.
