Blau has been named as a new assistant coach for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons basketball team.

Blau has spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at Abilene Christian University. Despite her title, she performed all of the duties of a full-time assistant coach.

She will work with the post players for the Lady Bisons. She will also be involved in opponent scouting, student-athlete development, scheduling, team camp and all aspects of recruiting.

"Lynsie will be a tremendous asset to our program," said Lady Bisons head coach Frank Bennett. "Lynsie has a great basketball mind. She is very organized and has an outstanding work ethic.

"She has a great personality which will aid her in working with our student-athletes and in recruiting. She comes to us with outstanding recommendations from the ACU coaching staff and others with whom she has worked."

While playing at ACU, Blau was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference South Division performer for the Wildcats (2002-03 and 2003-04), and she also was named second team NCAA all-South Central Region in 2003-04. In 59 games as a Wildcat after transferring from NCAA Division I Northern Arizona, Blau averaged 11.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

She led the Lone Star Conference in blocks as a junior with 55 and senior with 88. She was a 45-percent shooter from the field. As a junior, she had nine double-doubles and then recorded 14 more double-doubles as a senior. As a senior she led the conference in total rebounds (323) while averaging 11.1 rebounds per game.

Before transferring to Abilene Christian, she was the Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2001-02 after averaging 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds.

"Her experiences as a player and as a coach will really benefit our program," said Bennett. "We have prayed for several months that the Lord would provide the right individual for this position and we are thankful for her decision to join us in working toward our mission of developing great people in our program.

"With Lynsie joining Billy Snell and Katie Beth Allen I feel great about our coaching team. The only problem is my staff is 6-3, 6-4 and 6-5 so I am feeling short."

Blau graduated from Abilene Christian in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration. She pursued a successful career as a wedding planner before she returned to Abilene Christian in 2006 to complete her Masters in Organizational and Human Resource Development. She earned a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in her master's program.

"I'm really excited about becoming a part of this team and working with such amazing people," Blau said. "Lipscomb is a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and I can't wait to get started. I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity and look forward to offering new insight for the program.
