Lady Bisons spend a day building a Habitat home
The members of the Lady Bisons basketball team sometimes arise before dawn for early morning training sessions, but this past Saturday morning they woke up early in order to help others in the community.

The Lady Bisons worked for 6:30 a.m. to 23 p.m. in the Timberwood subdivision, located off of Brick Church Pike in Nashville.

This was the second year they have worked on the house in Timberwood."

Assistant coach Katie Beth Allen originally suggested "Habitat for Humanity" as a project for the team.

"The good thing is that you don't have to be skilled," said Lady Bisons head coach Frank Bennett. "They teach you what to do and then they turn you loose. Usually the first 30 minutes are chaos."

Due to heavy rains that day the outside work was canceled. The Lady Bisons spent the day working inside with a primary goal of installing insulation.

"It is a good thing for the team," said Bennett. "They get to meet the person who is going to be living in the house.

"It's amazing to see how many people are out there early on a Saturday morning. The houses are usually ready within 23 days."
