Banks earns College Sports Madness weekly honor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Lipscomb women’s basketball freshman Alex Banks has earned the distinction as College Sports Madness Atlantic Sun Player of the Week for her efforts in Lipscomb’s victory over Jacksonville State on Sunday.

Banks, a Hendersonville, Tenn. native, poured in a game-high and career-high 18 points in the 67-54 victory. Banks shot 6-of-9 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range. She also snagged seven rebounds, including three on the offensive end to lead in the Bisons effort.

College Sports Madness identifies the highest impact players nationally and from each conference in its weekly feature.

The Lady Bisons travel to No. 6 Georgia on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest in Athens.
