Women's basketball promotes Bowers to assistant coach

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women’s basketball head coach Greg Brown has announced the promotion of Anna Bowers to assistant coach.

Prior to her new appointment, Bowers was the director of basketball operations with the Lady Bisons.

“Anna is someone that people look to hire,” Brown said. “She has a great work ethic, and she buys into the values we have as a team. It’s always important to have someone that understands the culture of the program.”

After graduating from Lipscomb in 2012, Bowers was an assistant coach with the Tennessee State Champion Ensworth Academy girls basketball team. The varsity squad posted a 27-1 mark. Bowers was the head junior varsity coach as well as assisting with the track and field teams where she coaches sprints and jumps.

During her career with the Lady Bisons, Bowers scored 1,153 career points, second-best in the NCAA era. As a sharp shooter, Bowers made 207 long-distance shots in her career and amassed 83 made during her junior season, both program records.

Bowers replaces Jada Mincy who resigned to pursue other business ventures.
