Women's hoops set to host TSU for Saturday doubleheader

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team returns home to host Tennessee State Saturday at 4 p.m. inside Allen Arena as part of a Lipscomb basketball doubleheader.

Saturday’s contest marks the 11th meeting between the two teams in the  NCAA era with TSU holding the overall advantage 8-2. The two teams met last season at the Gentry Center where the Lady Bisons picked up the victory 81-78.

  • Freshman Loren Cagle’s three-point percentage of 75.0 ranks second in the conference while Alex Banks sits in third for her 56.3-percent field goal percentage.
  • Sara Bliss tied her career high in steals against UAB Wednesday night snatching three. Ashley Southern led the Lady Bisons in scoring collecting 17 points against the Blazers. She also picked up nine rebounds.
  • Six Lady Bisons have scored 10+ points in at least one game this season. Bliss is the only player to score 20+ points in at least one game.
  • Danay Fothergill leads the Purple and Gold averaging 14.0 points per game while Southern leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game. Cagle sports the best field goal percentage with a .600.
