Women's hoops looks to bounce back against Norse

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lady Bisons will be taking on Northern Kentucky on Saturday with a chance to move into third place in the Atlantic Sun.

A win for Lipscomb would put them at .500 in conference play. However, the Lady Bisons have yet to defeat the Norse in five previous matchups since moving to the Atlantic Sun.

Lipscomb (8-13, 3-4) dropped two games at home against the A-Sun’s top two teams last week. Florida Gulf Coast defeated the Lady Bisons handily 71-49, while the Stetson loss was only by five points, 82-77.

Danay Fothergill dropped 24 points on the Hatters in the loss, while Emily Eubank dished out a Lipscomb season-high 10 assists. Ashley Southern also provided 17 points and eight rebounds.

In the most recent outing for the Norse (13-9, 4-3), Florida Gulf Coast won 67-46 in the Bank of Kentucky Center. Melody Doss led the team in scoring with 15 on the night she became the 28th member of NKU’s 1,000 point club. Christine Roush added nine points for the Norse.

Doss and Roush are tied for the team lead in scoring at 13.4 points per game. Kaitlyn Gerrety is the team’s leading rebounder with 5.4 per contest.

Quick Hits:

  • Fothergill is seventh in the nation and first in the A-Sun with a 46.2 three-point field goal percentage.
  • The Lady Bisons are ranked 11th nationally in three-pointers made per game with an average of 8.4. They are ranked second behind FGCU’s 10.2 average in the A-Sun.
  • Eubank is leading the A-Sun in assists at 4.3 per game. She has led the Lady Bisons in that category in fifteen games as a freshman.
  • Southern’s 8.9 rebounds per game ranks her fourth in the A-Sun and 84th in the nation.

Saturday’s game will start at 3 and will be broadcast on ESPN3. Live stats will also be available.
