Bliss, Fothergill earn A-Sun academic honors

MACON, Ga. – Seniors Danay Fothergill and Sara Bliss were named to the Atlantic Sun Women’s Basketball Academic All-Conference team Thursday morning.

Fothergill, who was a unanimous selection to the team, has accumulated a 3.63 GPA and is expected to graduate in May with a degree in Interdisciplinary Teaching. On the court, she averaged 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in the regular season. She finished third in the A-Sun with a .426 three-point shooting percentage, second in three point field goals with 2.1 per game and fourth in free throw percentage at .825.

Bliss is also expected to graduate in May with a degree in Exercise Science. She has earned a 3.86 GPA during her time as a Lady Bison. On the floor, she averaged 10.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.7 steals per contest this season. She placed fourth in the conference in steals per game, fifth in three-point percentage (.400) and eighth in free throw percentage (.798).

The Lady Bisons are set to take on Stetson Friday night at 6 in the first round of the A-Sun Tournament.
