Inside the Herd: Meredith Lovelady

Next up in the “Inside the Herd” series will be junior Meredith Lovelady. Lovelady, who hails from Madison, Alabama, is entering her first season with the Lady Bisons after suiting up for Shelton State.

What’s been the biggest difference so far between Lipscomb and your previous school?

“It’s more advertised. We’ve got a better facilities and a nicer arena here as well. We didn’t live on campus at my other school; I actually live in a dorm here, so there’s more access to equipment you need here. They give you a lot to help you succeed.”

How did you find out about Lipscomb?

“I played AAU with Riley (Northway) in the fifth grade, so I already knew about it even if I didn’t know a lot about it. Then, they came to one of my games.”

What off-court hobbies do you have?

“I like spending time with my family, and going to the beach. I used to take karate. I was a third-degree before I had to stop.

Coach Brown’s thoughts on Meredith:

“She’s a strong player. She’s that strong shooter that we needed to bring in this year. She can get a shot off quick, and that’s going to help our offense a lot.”

The Lady Bisons will be taking the court on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Allen Arena against Rhodes for the last exhibition match before the regular season gets underway.
