Tough time on road for women's hoops as Lady Bisons fall to WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Another slow start doomed the Lipscomb (1-10) women’s basketball team as the Lady Bisons fell to Western Kentucky (6-4) on the road 87-35 on Thursday night.

After the tough start, Lipscomb outscored the Hilltoppers 33-31 in the second half. But, it was not enough to overcome the lead WKU built in the first half of action.

Senior Alex Banks led the Lady Bisons with nine points, finishing just shy of her fifth game in double-figures on the season.

Junior Meredith Lovelady drained a pair of three-pointers to finish with six points and a team-high five rebounds.

Junior Loren Cagle added a three of her own to go along with four rebounds, a team-best three assists, and one steal.

QUICK HITS:

  • Six Hilltoppers scored in double figures: Kendall Noble (15), Dee Givens (13), Whitney Creech (12), Tashia Brown (12), Ivy Brown (12), and Kayla Smith (11). Creech led the team with both nine rebounds and seven assists.
  • 17 Lady Bisons saw action in the contest.
  • Lipscomb was out-rebounded 53-30, and WKU won the assist battle 21-8.
  • Each team took exactly 22 three-point attempts. Lipscomb drained five, while WKY swished seven.
