Women's basketball suffers road loss to Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Lipscomb (1-2) women’s basketball team dropped a road match to Ball State (3-0) on Wednesday night 84-46 at Worthen Arena.

The Lady Bisons kept it within single digits in the first quarter, but a second quarter run but the Cardinals ahead for good heading into halftime.

Senior Loren Cagle led the team with eight points, seven rebounds, and two steals in 28 minutes of action. It was only the third time she has played less than 30 minutes in the past three seasons.  

Senior Auriana Broughton added seven points and four rebounds in only 13 minutes of playing time.

Sophomore Lauren Rau notched five points, a team-high five assists, and two steals.

Sophomore Lexi Manos tied her career high with five points, all in the first quarter, while senior Kennedy Potts also added five points and five rebounds

 

QUICK HITS:

  • Three Cardinals finished in double-figures: Carmen Grande (16), Moriah Monaco (13), and Destiny Washington (12).
  • Freshman Taylor Clark notched the first points of her Lady Bison career on a three-pointer in the second quarter.
  • Sophomore Carleigh Short notched a career-high four points in 11 minutes of action.
  • Lipscomb was out-rebounded 45-38, but lost the assist battle 20-11.
  • All 12 Lady Bisons who entered the game played 10 or more minutes: Cagle (with a team-high 28 minutes played), Potts, Broughton, Rau, Manos, Short, Clark, Riley Northway, Loshaveon Jones, Kaylee Cotton, Emily Kmec, and Meredith Lovelady.
